Namobuddha Phulchowki Trek
Namobuddha Phulchowki Trek is a short and easy trek route around the Kathmandu valley. Namobuddha is an important Buddhist pilgrimage site in Nepal. The Buddha, in one of his previous life, came across a starving tigress at this spot. Moved by compassion, the Buddha offered himself to satisfy the hungry tigress. Hence, the Namobuddha stupa is said to have been built over this spot. On the other hand, Phulchowki is popular for bird watching. About 300 species of birds are found in Phulchowki hill. As a result, bird watchers from all over the world come to Phulchowki for bird watching. Besides, bird watching Phulchowki is also popular for day hikes from Kathmandu.
This trek is a unique combination of hill hiking, religious value, and scenic mountain view. It is one of the most beautiful trekking trails in terms of vegetation. The trail goes through dense forests of Rhododendron, Mongolia, and Sal. Here you will have the opportunity to spot different species of flora and fauna. Besides, the trail also passes through typical Nepali villages. Where you will have the opportunity to learn more about village life. Furthermore, you will also get an unparalleled view of the Himalayas from Phulchowki. Thus, get one of the best views of the mountains. This Namobuddha Phulchowki trek begins with a short drive from Kathmandu to Dhulikhel. Dhulikhel is a picturesque hill situated 31 km away from Kathmandu. We begin our journey with an uphill hike to Namobuddha and explore around. Next, we will hike up to Balthali, a beautiful ethnic Newari settlement. Next, we will visit Bebar Danda. Subsequently, we will hike to Phulchowki. From Phulchowki, we descend to Godavari. Lastly, we will visit the Botanical Garden and end our trek.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at Kathmandu airport, meet our representative/guide and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon you have the option to stroll around Thamel and the local tourist market including the dream of Garden. In the evening cultural show with dinner. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 2: Drive Kathmandu-Dhulikhel(1440m/1hr)-hike to Nomobuddha (1720m/3hr)
After breakfast drive to visit the ancient temple of Pashupatinath followed by the Bouddhanath Stupa. Then drive along Nepal-Tibet road(Araniko Highway) till Dhulikhel, Dhulikhel is well known for one of the finest panoramic mountain views. After a brief stop, start a side road hiking to Namobuddha, an important Buddhist pilgrimage site, visit the beautiful Namo Buddha Village with a short walk to explore the culture and living style of the local people. Overnight at an Eco-friendly Resort in Nomobuddha.
Day 3: Hike from Nomobuddha to Balthali (2190m/4-5hrs)
After breakfast, start our hike to Balthali village which offers excellent mountain views. Explore around the Buddhist community village interacting with the local people. Overnight at Balthali Village in a Resort.
Day 4: Hike from Balthali to Bebar Danda (2100m/4-5 hrs)
This morning we shall start our hike to Bebar Danda which will take 4-5hrs. The trail passes through deeply wooded forest, unparalleled scenic mountain view, diverse flora, and fauna. Overnight at lodge in Bebar Dada.
Day 5: Hike from Bebar to Phulchoki (2765m/4-5hrs)
Today we hike through a lush forest with a wide variety of birds to Phulchowki(flowered hill), this is the highest hill(2765m) surrounding the Kathmandu valley. This hill is popular among tourists for bird watching. Overnight in Phulchowki.
Day 6: Hike from Phulchoki to Godavari - Drive to Kathmandu
After breakfast we shall descend to Godavari, it takes about 3 hours to reach Godavari. In Godavari visit the Botanical garden, greenhouses, and the fish farm, Then drive to Kathmandu to your hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 7: Departure
Transfer to the airport for your departure flight.
- All transfers by private vehicle.
- Accommodation in 3-4* category hotels in Kathmandu and local village lodges during the trek.
- Only breakfast while in Kathmandu and all meals during the trek.
- English speaking local guide along with porter (one porter for every two members).
- All necessary paper work and permits.

My Name is EDhan from California, America. I am a retired management consultant. Basically, this visit to Nepal exceeded my expectations. We came here through Tibet and Bhutan. Here in Nepal, I like the neighbourhood and friendly people. My wife every day used to go for morning walk and used to tell me the story about the local people, whatever she sees every day. Especially, the guide was most knowledgeable and made it possible and get a sense of not only historical and religious value of some of the places but also some of the other places how the people live over there day to day.
The company was able to manage all the services smoothly and made the memorable trip in Kathmandu. Do not be afraid of Earthquake; the government has done very good job, lots of cleaning up and reconstructions are going on. There are many places to go without facing any problems. Feel free to make a trip to Nepal nothing to afraid of and you will feel the completely different and unique. Hi, My Name is Margo Boston, America. We were planning the trip to visit Nepal Bhutan and Tibet through our local agency. In the beginning, we asked so many questions about safety, especially after the earthquake but we realised that after visiting Nepal it is completely safe & worthful to visit.
We are very glad to see the beautiful country. Everything was perfect and great to see the Hinduism and Buddhism and combinations of religious and cultural aspects in the tiny little city. The trip plan, all the staff activity including cultural show was great.

Hi, My Name is Lori, and I came to do the trip with my daughter. After the earthquake had happened we were confused, what should we do, should we go or should we not go for Nepal Trip and finally we decided to come after the consultation, and we had a wonderful time there. The tour guide and driver and all the staff were done magnificent job. There is so much to see and worthful to visit. The hotel was excellent, the food was great, we enjoyed our time. The Buddhist and Hindu temple were fascinating. Our guide was brilliant and enhanced all experience and knowledge he passed all the knowledge to us and shared the ideas. I encourage you to visit Nepal it is one of the incredible places around the world.

Hi ! This is Palm from America, this is my first trip to Nepal and has been perfect and life time memorable. I have travelled many places around the world and really been looking forward to this trip. Nepal is a very colourful country, I was concerned because of the earthquake and because of the impact might right now. I was pleasantly surprised that yes they did have an impact and there are lots of reconstruction are going on. There are lots of places to see and open for the tourist. The people here are very friendly, all the staffs of Sixth Sense including tour guide and the management and coordination were perfect.
What I like this country is that the culture and diversity of landscape. Besides this Nepal is very vibrant country and colourful country. In the future, I would like to make more trips in Nepal with Sixth Sense spending more time in Kathmandu and it’s surrounding areas and countryside. For the tourist, I would recommend please do visit Nepal with Sixth Sense. Tour Guide and company which was responsible for everything to organise this trip, everything was taken care of all the arrangements were first class.
