The Poon Hill Ghorepani trek offers the natural beauty, varieties of lifestyles, culture and traditions of people along with the breath taking spectacular view of the Himalayas, towering snow covered peaks, picturesque landscape, diverse flora and fauna. The trekking trail passes through villages, forests and unparalleled scenic mountains terraced farmlands. It discovers and develops an insight into the culture and living style of the Nepalese people in the rural area.

This trek is graded as easy and you dont need previous trekking experience. Average trekking hour will be 3-5 hours per day. The altitude of this trek ranges from 910m (Pokhara) to 3210m (Poon Hill) . Ghorepani Poon Hill trek begins with the short scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul. Then you head to Tikhedhunga, Ghorepani, Tadapani and Ghandruk following the bank of the Modi River. You cross through the dense subtropical forest, rhododendron forest & bamboo bushes, patchwork of valleys, enjoying the beatific high waterfalls and mountain views.

In the forest you see the various birds, playful Langur (black-faced monkey) and enjoy the chirping sound of the birds. From the Poon hill you observe the dazzling sunset and sunrise view in the mountains. You visit Gurung and Magar ethnic villages and enjoy their warm greeting and hospitality.  The best seasons for Poon Hill- Ghorepani Trek are autumn and spring when the weather is clear and you can have the clear view of the mountains as well as the natural scenery.

Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1400m)
Upon arrival at the airport, meet and transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon, you have an option to be escorted stroll around Thamel and the local streets of Kathmandu. Welcome dinner in the evening with a typical Nepali cultural program.

Day 2: Drive to Pokhara (910m) 
Early morning after breakfast, drive to Pokhara from Kathmandu (208km) via Prithvi Highway, takes 5hrs approximately. Along the way we will stop in scenic spots, for lunch and to get fresh as well. In the evening, you have option to stroll around the Phewa Lake and local market.

Day 3 Drive Pokhara - Nayapul (1050) & Trek to Tikhedhunga (1577m) 4hrs
Drive Pokhara (915 m.) to Nayapul (1050m.), which is about 45 km by Private vehicle, which takes 1.5hrs drive. While driving you will pass through village with great scenery form Naudanda, Kanre, and Lumle all the way to Nayapul. Begin trek from Nayapul (1050m) to Tikhedhunga (1577m) via Birethanti (1065m), which takes about 4 hours. Our adventure trekking begins with warm sub tropical region & follows the Modi River upstream to Birethanti then follows the east bank of Bhurungdi Khola with scenery of waterfall & dense green forest.

Day 4: Tikhedhunga to Ghorepani (2855) 5-6hrs
Trek to Ghorepani (2855m ) from Tikhedhunga after breakfast, take about 6hrs. The route goes steeply uphill with stones peeped step to reach Ulleri. From Ulleri you can have a view of Annapurna Himal and beautiful greenery terraces. After few hours of walk, a steep ascent and more gradual uphill walk to reach to the Ghorepani. We will pass through some delightful villages and the beautiful dense rhododendron forest revealing the characteristic of Nepal at these altitudes.

Day 5: HikeGhorepani to Poon Hill (3210m) for sunrise &Tadapani (2675m) 5-6hrs
Early morning Climb to Poon Hill (3210m) for great sunrise views of the Himalayas including Mt. Dhaulagiri (8167m.), Tukuche Peak (6920m), Nilgiri (6940m.), Varaha Shikhar (7847m.), Mt. Annapurna (8091m.) and many more snow capped mountain. Poon hill is the highest hilltop point of this trek route and offers best close up view on the Ghorepani trek. After having great time and spectacular breathtaking views of Himalaya, return to the Ghorepani for breakfast. After breakfast you will continue trek to Tadapani. The walk will pass through the rhododendron forest, Pine and bamboo frost with short up and down. The total trekking time for today is approximately 5 hours.

Day 6: Tadapani- Ghandruk (2675m) 3-4hrs
Trek fromTadapani (2675m.) to Ghandruk (1950m.) and it takes about 3 hours, explore the ethnic village, visit the ethnic museum, enjoy the scenery. The trail descends through beautiful forests. Ghandruk is a stunning village of Gurung people and famous for their ethnic group, distinctive dialect, culture, costume, and life style. From here we can observe stunning views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, Gangapurna, Annapurna III and Fishtail.

Day 7: Ghanruk- Nayapul & drive to Pokhara (910m) 5hrs trek & 1.5hr drive
Early morning have breakfast and Trek Ghanruk to Nayapul (5-6hrs) and drive (1.5hrs) to Pokhara , relax in the beautiful lake city in the evening.
Overnight at hotel in Pokhara.

Day 8: Fly to Kathmandu (25min.) & sight seeing Kathmandu
After breakfast drive to Pokhara airport for departure to Kathmandu. Check in to the hotel and then start Kathmandu valley sight seeing covering holeyest hindu temple Pashupatinath temple and worlds largest Boudhanath Stupa, both of them are UNESCO world heritage site.
