Day 11:  Thangnak - Cho-la Pass (5420 m) - Dzongla (4830 m): 7 - 8 hrs
Cho La Pass is also another highlights of this trip. Today is the toughest day and we have to start early at 4am. The pass is not itself difficult but it is steep and involves a glacier traverse on the eastern side. We have to be careful as the trail is vertical and the rocks glazed by ice add trouble to the trekkers making the trail slippery. However the trail from Cho La Phedi to climb through a ravine and a rocky trail we climb up continuously and reach at the top of the Cho La. The top of the Chola pass is decorated with prayer flags. The pyramidal Ama Dablam presides over a range of mountains on the south even as Cholatse soar on the west and Lobuche East and Baruntse rises sharply to our left. While trekking through the side of a frozen lake, Cho La Pass is another toughest part. We have to pass through some crevasses before we reach Dzongla, another beautiful place with a complete view of Mt. Cholatse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Lobuche peak and the Pheriche village far down below. At Dzongla it is spectacular view we can feel from the bedrooms as well.

Then we ascended to climb the rocky ridge near to the summit marked by prayer flags. We stay at the Kala Patthar on top of the rocks, our eyes taking unbelievable Himalayan Panorama, wandering from one mighty massif to another. We take pictures as much as we can and spend time about half an hour. It would be very hard to stay for long over there because of the cold weather, our hands and finger might get blue, drinking water bottle might get frozen. After taking the pictures and having lifetime experience, we descend back to Gorekh shep and have breakfast. Then descend down to Pheriche (4280m). On the way we have lunch at Thukla (4520m), which takes about 3 hour from Gorekgshep. In about 1.5 hours we reach to Pheriche (4280m) valley from Thukla.
