Everest Basecamp trekking is obviously one of the popular destinations in Everest region of Nepal. For adventure travelers it is an exciting opportunity to be at the foot of world’s highest mountain that is Mount Everest. Mount Everest Base Camp (5364m) has been popular trekking destination since the trail first successful completion of expeditions to Mount Everest Summit (8848 meter) on May 29th, 1953 by Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. The Everest base camp trekking reveals some of the most breath- taking and specular scenery of the Himalaya in Nepal. Everest Base Camp trekking is graded as moderate to difficult trekking. Trekkers should have previous trekking experience and physical fitness to the Everest base camp trekking.

Everest base camp trekking begins half an hour spectacular adventures mountain flight to Lukla. On the first day of trekking in the Everest region it follows the bank of Dudh Kosi River, crosses forests of rhododendron, magnolia, villages and monasteries. On the second day, reach at bustling mountain village town in Khumbu region is called Namche Bazaar. At the Sherpa capital of Namche bazar you have option to explore the village and interact with the local Sherpa people to develop insight of culture, tradition and living style of local people in Everest region of Nepal and immerse yourself in the rich Buddhist culture. After having one-day rest at Namche bazar the trail ascends towards the Tengboche hilltop village then trail follows the Dingboche, Lobuche and Gorekh Shep. On the same day we hike up to Everest Base Camp and next day early in the morning hike to Kalapatthar (5550m) to explore the sunrise and mountain views, which is our ultimate destination of the Everest Base camp trek. Then we descend back through Pheriche, Pangbuche, Phortse, Khumjung, Monjo, Lukla and take mountain flight to Kathmandu.

Day1: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon arrival at the Tribhuvan International airport, meet and transfer to the hotel. In the evening, you have an option to be escorted stroll around Thamel and the local tourist market of Kathmandu valley. Welcome dinner in the evening with a typical Nepali cultural program in Kathmandu.

Day 2: Kathmandu sight seeing & trek preparation

After breakfast start sight seeing covering Hindu’s holiest pilgrimage site Pashupatinath temple and Buddhist pilgrimage site world’s largest stupa Baudhanath, which are listed under the UNESCO world heritage site. Pashupatinath Temple is one of the holiest Hindu shrines in the world, the fabulous pagoda houses the ‘linga’ of Lord Shiva. Pashupatinath temple is a sacred lingam, or the phallic symbol of Lord Shiva. People bathe in the Bagmati River with a faith of cleansing themselves spiritually. Boudhanath Stupa, another important Buddhist pilgrims site. The Buddhists shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest Stupas in the world. It is also one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destinations in Kathmandu valley. After sightseeing we will have a discussion session where we discuss about our trek plan and preparation in the afternoon. Day 3: Fly Kathmandu to Lukla (2810m) 30 min &Trek to Phakding (2652m). 3hrs
After breakfast transfer to domestic airport to board a flight to Lukla (2840m) and which will take about 30 minutes. The flight to Lukla will be one of the scenic lifetime experiences. Upon arrival at Lukla start trekking until we reach to Phakding  It will take about 3 hours to reach to Phakding (2650m). The trail to Phakding lets you discover the green landscape with a scenic view of local villages green farmlands in the lower Everest region of Nepal.

Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3440m) 6hrs
After breakfast start trekking through a beautiful pine forest that leads us along the bank of Dudh Koshi River and Hillary Suspension bridge to reach to the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park. The trail passes through the Dudh Koshi, Bhote Koshi river and reach to Chautara from where we can see the first glimpse of the Mt. Everest. Namche bazar is one of the trading point for Sherpa people. It is also ideal market for visitors to purchase traditional local made crafts. The time will take 6hrs to reach to the Namche Bazar from Phakding.

Day 5: Acclimatization, trek to Everest view hotel Shyangboche (3880m) 4hrs
Today is the day for acclimatization but we don’t stay at lodge for entire day. In the morning we take the good opportunity to explore the Sherpa Culture Museum and Everest photo Gallery, from where you can also explore the spectacular mountain views including Mt. Everest, Kongde, Kusum Kangru, Thamserku, Aama Dablam, Lotse and Nuptse. Start hiking to Everest view hotel passing through Syangboche Airport (3700m), which is said, to the airport situated at the highest altitude in the world. We climb further to reach Mt. Everest View Hotel for great panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Amadablam, Tawache, Thaamserku, Kongde and many more. Then we trek back to Namche bazar.

Day 6: Namche bazar to Tengboche (3860m) 5hrs
Trek from Namche bazar to Tengboche, along the way it offers the majestic views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama dablam and Thamserku. The trail passes through Kayangjuma, Sansa, small village Phunki Thenga then cross the Bridge over the Dudh Koshi river and finally reach to beautiful village Tengbohe situated at the hilltop. Tengboche is a wonderful place for scenic views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Nuptse and Mt. Ama Dablam and It has the biggest Buddhist monastery (3860m) called Tengboche Monastery in the Everest region.

Day 7: Trek Tengboche to Dingboche (4410m) 5hrs
In the morning if you are interested visit the Tangboche monastery to do pooja. Try to be there before 7:30am, observe the monks praying and you can also involve there for pray. After breakfast trek from Tengboche to Dingboche, also known as Summer Valley, which will take approximately 5 hours. At first we cross Imja Khola and trek along the beautiful green fields, protected lands & the village of Pangboche (3900m). The trail is step up for entire day to reach to Dingboche.

Day 8: Trek Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m) 5hrs
Take any one of the trail that leads to the white chorten on the top of the ridge behind Dingboche. Start trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4910m) which will take approximately 5 hours.  At the beginning climb to Thukla (4530m) through the Khumbu Khola Valley & continue through Dusa(4530m), Palrung Khrka and on the left hand side you will see the Chola peak and at the bottom Chola Lake (4590m). Along the way you will witness a great view of Mt. Pumori, beautiful views of Himalayas and reach to Lobuche.

Day 9: Lobuche to Gorak Shep (5180m) Hike to Everest Base- Camp (5364m) & back to Gorak Shep (8hrs)
Trekking to Gorak Shep passes through the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier with the witness of north ridge of Mt Everest, Mt. Pumari, Mahalangur and Mt. Nuptse. Climbing After walking approximately 3 hours from Lobuche, we will reach at Gorak Shep. From Gorak Shep continue trekking to reach Everest Base Camp, which is the ultimate destination of our trekking and will take approximately 3 hours. Hiking through the trail with many ups and downs in the high altitude, we explore the lovely and vibrant beautiful views of Snowcap Mountains. On the way we pass through the large icefall and glacier and after walking one and half hour we see the first glimpse of Mt. Everest. When we reach to EBC we will enjoy the natural magnificence of Khumbu Glacier and icefall. We will spend one hour in the base camp enjoying the Himalayan beauty and capturing the majestic views in our cameras. Then trek back to Gorekhshep. Get ready for tomorrow as we wake up early in the morning for sunrise views from Kalapatthar.

Day 10: Hiking to Kala Pattar (5545m), Gorekshep & Pheriche (4210m) 7hrs
Today is the hardest and tough day for us. We wake up at 4am in the morning and start hike to Kalapatthar for spectacular sunrise view and massif of mountains. A long but truly an exciting and adventurous hiking will finally land us in Kala Patthar will explore majestic views of mountains such as Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumari, Lola peak,Khumbu peak, Baruche, Nuptse, Aama Dablam, Kangtega, Thamserku, Lotse and it’s range, and last one on the right hand corner is the Tibetan ranges. We will actually enjoy the panoramic views of Himalayas and capture the moments in our cameras. This moment is one of the most memorable moments for you, which will keep our memories alive for the rest of our lifetime. Then trek back to Gorek Shep for the breakfast and then descend to Pheriche (4210m) via Lobuche and Thukla.

Day 11: Trek Pheriche to Phortse (m) 5-6hrs
Start trekking Pheriche to Phortse village (3810m), which will take approximately 5-6 hours. The trail passes through exploring the wild animals like mountain goat, musk deer and many species of himalayan birds. There are monasteries at Pangboche and Phortse village, which were constructed during the 16th century. About 3 hours descending from Pheriche we reach to Pangboche village (3930m). It has also gained its popularity for highest settlement on earth. From Pangboche it will take 3 hrs to reach to beautiful village Phortse.

Day 12: Trek Phortse to Manjo (2835m) 6hrs
After breakfast trek from Phortse village to Monjo village, which will take approximately 6 hours. From Phortse village the trail drops sharply down to the Dudh Kosi and the village of Phortse Thangka, where we cross the river and ascend up to Mongla Hill (3973m), which offers also the close up mountain views. From here descend all the way down to famous town Namche Bazaar. Spend some time at Namche Bazar for lunch before we get down to the Manjo village. We descend down the valley via Dudh Koshi river to reach Monjo. FromNamche to Monjo is steep down, takes approximately 3 hours. The beautiful Monjo village is located near the boundary of Sagarmatha National Park. In the evening you have option to explore the Monjo village interacting with the local people.

Day 13: Trek Manjo to Lukla (2800m) 5hrs
Today is our final day of the trekking of Everest Basecamp. We start trekking from Monjo to Lukla following the lower altitude trail in the Khumbu region. We walk through the Bank of the Dudh Kosi River passing various Sherpa settlements enjoying the dense forest area covered by beautiful rhododendron and pine trees. We will also see many monasteries that resemble unique Buddhist culture and tradition. Upon arrival at Lukla we will have a relaxing time at the hotel and make preparation to fly back to Kathmandu for the next day.

Day 14: Fly back Lukla to Kathmandu (1310m) 35 min flight
Fly from Lukla to Kathmandu will take 35 minutes minutes of amazing scenic flight lands you in the domestic terminal of the airport. Up on arrival in Kathmandu, transfer to the hotel and in the afternoon enjoy as leisure or you have time to do the last minute shopping or stroll around the local tourist market.

Day 15: Free/leisure day in Kathmandu
Its also spare day in case of bad weather in Lukla. Remember, there are high chances of cancelling flights because of weather condition in Lukla. Up on arrival in Kathmandu domestic airport, transfer to the hotel and have a rest in the afternoon. You vhave option to stroll around the local market in Kathmandu.
